Pastor Lance Jeter, a native of Caroline County, was raised and educated by the late Geneva Fortune Jeter and Clarence Jeter I. It was in this community that he found his life partner, Kristy Williams Jeter, with whom he shares a 25-year journey and two wonderful children, Nevaeh and Larenz. Pastor Jeter's life is a testament to his unwavering dedication to the church and faith, exemplifying a deep commitment to serving God and His people.

 

Upon graduation from Caroline High School, Pastor Jeter extended his theological education at the Samuel Dewitt School of Theology, Evans Smith Program, earning certifications in Christian Education and Ministry Empowerment. Reverend Jeter is licensed and ordained to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, embracing his calling as a servant first—following the example set by our Lord and Savior. Pastor Jeter was licensed in 2023 and ordained in 2024 under the leadership of Pastor Jared Beasley at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Sparta, Virginia. In November 2024, Pastor Jeter was elected as Pastor-elect of Zion Grove Baptist Church in Woodford, Virginia. On November 23, 2025, he was installed as the Pastor.

 

As a leader for Verizon Global Supply Chain, Pastor Jeter travels, provides counseling, and, importantly, serves as a nurturing parent figure, ensuring that God's love and guidance are always present in any environment that may not explicitly promote religion.  

 

In Matthew 20:26-28, Jesus teaches us, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Pastor Jeter lives by this scripture, affirming his devotion to servanthood as the true way to lead and serve in Christ’s name.
